Associate Director, Change & Communications

Core Responsibilities

As a Change Management Associate Director, you will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring all projects meet or exceed the terms in the client’s statement of work.
  • Managing projects that deliver on time, on budget and with unparalleled quality.
  • Building an approach that involves and engages those impacted by the change and ensures appropriate sponsorship from management.
  • Conducting thorough needs and gap analyses of skills, audience, organization, etc.
  • Anticipating organizational changes that come with large-scale implementations.
  • Developing or guiding the development of sound, creative and high-quality solutions (e.g. change strategies, impact assessments, behavioral change plans, communication strategies/plans, workshop designs, and the like)
  • Working with clients to adapt their behaviors so they support the new way of doing business.
  • Managing, motivating and guiding the Emerson project team. You might also be asked to:
  • Manage multiple or complex programs.
  • Counsel and develop teams.
  • Provide thought leadership and quality assurance for project work.
  • Help with business development, like developing proposals for new work and building client relationships.
  • Identifying best practices and reusable tools and templates.

Requirements

Being a Change Management Associate Director requires:
  • Minimum of 15 years external change consulting, strategic communications or organizational development experience
  • Minimum of 10 years program/project management experience
  • Expert-level experience in change management principles and best practices
  • Superior business/technical writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated experience as a project manager using proven methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Significant experience working with people at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and support senior leadership
  • Change planning and stakeholder management experience
  • Communication design and development experience
  • Change measurement experience
  • Big 4 or other Management Consulting experience
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Skills/Experiences

You get bonus points if you have some of the following specialty skills:
  • ERP or similar technology implementation experience (Salesforce, Workday, SAP, etc)
  • Organization design experience
  • Change management or coaching certifications
  • Large transformation experience
  • Business process expertise
  • Project Management (PMP) Certification
